The Sin City Pattaya

Sunset With You Will Be Perfect

The beach is my all times favorite place to be. I love to hear the sound of the waves, feel the air breathing through my hair, and watch the beautiful sunset to end the day. That’s why I was so excited when I arrived in Pattaya.

Pattaya is a vibrant coastal city that only took two hours ride by car from Bangkok. The heat of the sun instantly woke me up from my nap during my road trip to Pattaya. I was so happy to see the beach and the sunshine so bright that day. No more shopping malls with thousands of people buzzing around with their giant and heavy shopping bag.

DAY#1

I was feeling a bit déjà vu when I arrived in Pattaya. The atmosphere is almost like in Boca Grande, Cartagena, Colombia. It is a combination between beaches and large modern buildings and hotels. I chose to stay in Bett Pattaya, a small and affordable hotel on the main road near Alcazar Cabaret Show. It has a small lobby with just enough space to check in and drop in luggage.

Since I traveled in a group I chose the largest room that fit four people. The room was quite big with two bedrooms; one with a bunk bed for two people, and the other room with king size bed, TV, desk, mirror, and bathroom. But the bathroom is tiny compared with the size of the room. Overall it was a good call to stay there.

We arrived around noon in Pattaya, so after checking in to the hotel we ran into a small restaurant across the road because were so hungry. Then we decided to walk around and do a little sightseeing. After a few minutes, I decided to enter a shopping mall to cool down for a while. Then I continued by walking through the beach. The long walk coastal was very entertaining, with many people passing by, cars riding through the street, food street sellers selling their products, and hotels, restaurants, and bars lining the street. When it was twilight I took the time to just stand still and enjoy the view; so beautiful.

Before The Sunset

I walked by the beach to get into the port where the giant board of Pattaya was written on it. On the corner of the beach road, there is Pattaya Walking Street. Where night clubs, go-go bars, and beer bars existed. I was surprised to see that view because it is probably my first time seeing that.

I have no idea that Pattaya is like Vegas, The Sin City. When the sun goes down, all the lights were up, and I realized Pattaya is so vibrant and lively neighborhood. I was so shocked by how much different the vibes are at light and night. I almost missed my hotel when I returned, because the neighborhood is super different.

DAY #2

Soak Up The Sun on Pattaya's Beach

Since the hotel doesn’t serve breakfast for guests I decided to go to Starbucks near the beach road. I want to buy a tumbler and have a hot café latte to accompany me that morning. I bought a hash brown in Mc Donalds beside Starbucks and enjoyed my morning view; The Pattaya’s Beach.

After a few hours, I get back to the hotel and get ready. I wore a backless mini dress strap with a floral print that day to ensure myself have a healthy sunburn. One of the things I love to do on the beach is to get a sun tan. Instead of having fair white skin like most Indonesian ladies, I prefer to have a slightly darker skin tone. I think it looks healthier, more exotic, and more Indonesian.

I decided to enter the Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall, located in the same area as the Hilton hotel on beach road. I went there to get some lunch at the food court and do a little window shopping. Around 4 pm I hurried back to the hotel to take a bath and change clothes because I was going to watch the Alcazar cabaret show at 5 pm. I bought the ticket early in the morning, but surprisingly tickets for the 6.30 pm, 8 pm, and 9.30 pm show sold out.

Lady Boy of Alcazar Cabaret

Watching a cabaret show is probably one of the must-see shows while you are in Thailand. It is an entertainment show that combines stage design and costumes with a drag queen. I think the wardrobe and the stage design are extravagant, but the show itself is not so spectacular. But overall, it was very entertaining. I mean it's rare to have a chance to witness a ladyboy perform on stage wild and fun.

Since it was my last night in Pattaya, we decided to explore the city's nightlife. We also met my Aunt’s friend who lived in Pattaya. She took us to Hooters Bar and Restaurant on the beach road. It was my first time there, and I was surprised to see the sexy waitress looks like a model. They were so energetic.

Later that night, we went to a Go Go Male Club. It was so awkward to see them. I have seen sexy dancers and pole dancer performances, but seeing a man dancing so erotic was just beyond my expectation. LOL 😋

DAY # 3

It’s my last day in Pattaya. I was so sleepy that the only thing I do in the morning was just lay on the bed. I woke up late around 10 am, checked my phone, made a phone call then get a shower. After that, I packed my belonging and was ready to hit the street to get lunch.

It was a short trip but it was great and I had a fun time here in Pattaya. Now we’re so ready to go back to Bangkok before returning home the next day. Bye Pattaya!
