Welcome To My Paradise
That tittle is really fit to describe Gili Trawangan, a small island in Lombok province. I've heard so many stories about how beautiful this places is, and now finally I had a chance to see it myself. It was only take two hours trip by fast boat from Bali. Around 7 AM the boat sailed off to Gili, I decided to sat on the roof so I can enjoyed the view.
After two hours I can feel the sun heat when it burns against my skin, and the breeze as it fingers my hair. At that moment I can see the island with dozens of small boats surrounding it. Welcome to Gili Trawangan written in a wooden board in front of the beach at the main gate of the island.
I stepped my feet on the sand, with my bags on my shoulders. So the first thing I need to do here is to find a hotel, then renting a bike. Because it's a small island there are no cars or motorbike, so you could just walk or rent a bike. Well there's also a wagon called "delman" but it's too expensive if you want to ride it every time.

I had a confession, I am actually pretty good riding a bicycle but somehow I lost my ability. After all these years never once riding a bike, I had to started slowly. I had a cramp on my hands, my thighs and my butt. Oh I wish I can ride a bike more and less ride a car.
Actually there are not much activities that I can do in the island, other than sightseeing, swimming, soaking up the sun, snorkeling or diving. But I loved it here!
On my first day I went to the top of the hill to see a sunset, then later that night I'm riding my bike through the island and stop by at a local reggae bar that to enjoyed a live music. The song Welcome To My Paradise, drifted from the bar and heard up to the street. There's many people inside enjoying the music while dancing to the rhythm of the song.
For two days all I'm doing was just waking up late, had a brunch by the beach, swimming, riding a bike, and my all time favorite things to do is enjoying sunset. Oh life! Why I can't do this everyday?
Two days gone, now it's time to go back to Bali. It was a pleasure spending time here, relaxing and of course reminding me again how to ride a bike. Until next time, goodbye my paradise!
