Lucky Number Eleven

Carlos Vela finally signed for Real Sociedad 

Number 11 is not my favourite number but somehow that number always be a number that is easy to remember. Somehow my two favourite footballers recently moved to a new club each using the same back number, which is number 11.

The first player is Carlos Vela, a Mexican footballers. After several years of frustration in English Football Club, Arsenal, a few months ago he finally decided to stay in the city of San Sebastian, Spain, a city which became the headquarters of his new team Real Sociedad. He moved from Arsenal because he always been the second choice, and rarely get a spot in Arsene Wenger squad, so he decided to play at Real Sociedad team that he had defended for a year on loan.

Anyway, I support his decision so that I could see him play more often on TV while defending his team or when he defends the Mexican national team. Also Carlos Vela look more handsome with the blue and white stripes shirt with numbered 11 on his back, and of course with a bearded face. Caliente!

The second is a player from the Netherlands who was aged 26 years, he was Ibrahim Afellay. Yups, I also don't know since when I decided to be his fans but I confess that I also love him not because of his great football skill but rather his cute and innocent face.

Ibrahim Afellay signed one year contract on loan to Schalke 04

I just started to realize his existence since the last European Cup tournament, even though the Dutch lost in the group stage and he was eliminated from the competition, and Ibrahim was criticized heavily but that did not matter. I remain to be his new fan.

After playing for Barcelona for just one season, he decided to move to Germany football cub, Schalke 04. Well, just like Carlos Vela, it seems like El barca decided to loan him because he couldn't compete with other great players in the Catalan club.

I'm sad because he has to leave one of the best clubs in the world. But perhaps by moving to another club he can play regularly and of course convinced the new Dutch national team coach Louis Van Gaal to call his name back to play for De Oranje.

Another coincidence, Afellay also use jersey number 11 in his new team. Hopefully he can succeed and shine again in team Schalke 04. Houd de geest van Ibrahim!
