Quarter Final Euro Cup and The Beauty of Journalism
The group stage is over, eight countries from different group has
booked their ticket to the quarter finals of the Euro Championship
2012 in Ukraine and Poland. Czech Republic and Greece from group A,
Germany and Portugal from Group B, Spain and Italy from Group C and
last England and France from Group D.
Surprisingly Czech Republic and Greece make their way to the quarter
final after beating host of the Euro Poland and Russia. On group B
“hell group” Netherland has to pack their stuff early after lost in
all game they had against Denmark, Germany and Portugal. It was the
worst performance they had in Euro for the past years, moreover they
are highly favored to win Euro 2012 because they came with a tittle
as World Cup 2010 Runner up. Germany pass the group stage convincingly
after won all three matches with maximum 9 points, and in second place
Portugal pass to quarter finals with 7 points.
In group C the defending champions Spain also succeed through quarter
final after beating Croatia 1-0 on last Tuesday, they had to work
harder and succeed to score a goal in 88th minute by Jesus Navas. In
other hand Italy should be grateful to Spain because their win has made
them pass the group stage.
Last but not least, The Three Lions finally came through quarter final
after beating Ukraine 1-0 goal by Wayne Rooney. In second place is
French, even though they lost against Sweden in their last match but
their managed to book their ticket to quarter final.
So we’ll watch more exciting game in the quarter final, especially big
match England vs Italy and Spain vs French. Who will win? I hope The
Three Lions and La Furia Roja will beat their opponents and make
it through the semis. We’ll see!
Enough with the match talk, there’s also exciting news out of the pitch.
Sara Carbonero the reporter of TELECINCO TV who is also Iker Casillas
girlfriend was working again doing live report from the pitch. Just in
case you guys forgot, Sara became phenomena after being accused as the
ring leader of after Spanish defeated on their first match in World Cup
2010 in South Africa, but all that accusation was pointless after
Spanish national team won their first title as World Champions after beat Netherlands in the Final. Not to mention the romantic incident when
Casillas suddenly kissed her while she was interviewed him live on TV.
Since that moment the romance between them has taken their fame to the
next level.
Sara has seen on sideline of the pitch in Spain match against French,
Sweden and Croatia, she looks pretty as usual and her style became a
spotlight and trend in magazines. I personally like her taste of fashion,
it is simple but yet stylish. Love her simple top mix with statement
jacket or coat and a really nice pairs of boots. You go girl!
Well according to the Spanish newspapers, Sara captured the attention
of the Italian coaches, curious fans and players while she was working.
Armed with customary notepad, sneakers or boots and microphone, she made
herself comfortable at home on the pitch.
But I read in Spanish news portal she was criticized on twitter and
became trending topic after doing interviewed to the Spanish players
post match against Croatia, they made a humorous comments for her.
Some journalist also saying that her appearance “un ejemplo de
malversacion de los valores del periodismo es una television” an
example of exploitation of the values of journalism in television.
Well, well.. I don’t know whether is true or not because I haven’t had a
chance to watch the interview, but I hope she’ll doing better on her next
work. Like one of the newspaper on Spanish has said el camino de lama
fama no es siempre un camino de rosas, the road of fame isn’t always
the path of rose. Vamosss Sara!! Vamoosss España!!
